Welcome and thank you for visiting my website.
I hope you consider it a valuable source of information on the Senate of Canada and my work there on behalf of all Canadians. I invite you to learn about the issues and concerns that engage my attention and energy. On this site you will find news about my work in Senate Committees, my speeches, statements from the Senate Chamber, editions of my newsletter called News from the Senate, and links to related sites.
As a federal Parliamentarian, the main focus of my work is the creation and development of new Public Policies and laws for Canadians. I accomplish this through my work in the Senate and its committees, but also by collaborating with PCO, PMO and Senior Bureaucrats in the crafting of these new policies.
Since many of my personal interests and passions have an important bearing on the work I do as a Senator, I have also included information about me and some of my activities beyond Parliament Hill on this site. It is my sincere hope that all this will give you a sense of who I am, what I have done, and what I am striving to achieve for all Canadians.
A new “photo” section will also be up-and-running shortly. I invite you to browse through some of these photos to learn more about my work as a Canadian Senator.
On May 4th, 2011, Canadians elected a strong, stable, majority Conservative Government led by Prime Minister Stephen Harper. The first session of the 41st Parliament has been underway since September 2011 and the Government’s focus remains the economy and the short- and long-term prosperity of Canadian families.
We, as federal Parliamentarians, will continue to debate a number of issues that galvanize national attention. These include Canada’s commitment to global warming, pension and employment insurance reform, free trade with foreign markets, job creation, keeping our streets and communities safe, protecting Canadians from criminals, investing in innovation and education, etc.
I look forward to working with my fellow parliamentarians to improve the quality of life for all Canadians and to ensure a transparent and accountable government.
Please contact my office if you have any questions, comments or if there is any way I can be of service to you. And thanks again for stopping by.
