Since many of my personal interests and passions have an important bearing on the work I do as a Senator, I have also included information about me and some of my activities beyond Parliament Hill on this site. It is my sincere hope that all this will give you a sense of who I am, what I have done, and what I am striving to achieve for all Canadians.
As this Session of Canada's 40th Parliament gets underway, we will no doubt see a number of issues galvanize national attention. These include Canada's commitment to the people of Afghanistan, global warming, Canada's equalization program, and, of course, the economy. I look forward to working with my fellow parliamentarians to improve the quality of life for all Canadians and to ensure a transparent and accountable government.
